January 16, 2018 06:03 PM | Teresa Varley
Rookies JuJu Smith-Schuster and T.J. Watt were named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie team.

Smith-Schuster, the Steelers' second-round draft selection in 2017, was previously voted the winner of the Joe Greene Great Performance Award, given annually to the Steelers top rookie by the PFWA Pittsburgh Chapter.

Smith-Schuster played in 14 regular season games, starting seven of them. He has 58 receptions for 917 yards and seven touchdowns, leading all rookies in receiving yards, touchdown catches and catches of 40 yards. He was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Cleveland in Week 17 when he returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. He also was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Detroit in Week 8 when he had seven receptions for 193 yards, including a 97-yard touchdown reception.

Watt lived up to all the expectations for a No. 1 draft pick, starting all 15 games he played. Watt finished seventh on the defense in total tackles with 52, 39 of them solo stops. He was third on the team with seven tackles, behind on Cameron Heyward (12) and Vince Williams (8). Watt has 12 quarterback pressures, eight pass defenses, an interception and a forced fumble. He also blocked a field goal. Watt's seven sacks led all rookie linebackers, and he is the only linebacker in the NFL with at least 50 tackles, five sacks, five passes defensed and an interception.
